We do not test strollers. Here is exactly what we do instead.

Most review sites blur the line between "we measured this" and "the brand says so". This page draws that line as sharply as we can, because a parent spending $900 deserves to know which one they are reading.

The method, five steps

01

Read the manufacturer's own page

Not a retailer listing, not a review roundup, not a press release. Each spec comes from the brand's product or comparison page, and we record the URL and the date we read it. Those sources are printed at the bottom of every review.

02

Write down what is missing

If a brand does not publish weight, folded size or capacity, the field stays empty and the page says "Not published". We do not fill gaps from similar models, forum posts or another site's table. Mockingbird publishes almost none of these figures, which is why that review has more blanks than numbers.

03

Score against published facts only

Each stroller gets a 0–5 sub-score on four weighted factors. The sub-scores are editorial judgement, but they are constrained: a factor can only score highly if the underlying facts are published and specific.

04

State the benchmark, not just the number

"27.6 lb" on its own means nothing. "27.6 lb against 13.6 lb for the TRVL" is a decision. Every number that matters is shown next to the alternative a parent would actually consider.

05

Say what we have not done

We have not pushed, folded, loaded or crash-tested any of these strollers. Every card and every review says "Not hands-on tested". Where a safety claim appears, it is attributed to the manufacturer or to a named third party — never to us.

The weight table

Four factors, fixed weights, applied identically to every stroller. The weights do not change after we see the results, and no brand can move a position by paying more.

FactorWeightWhat earns points
Performance & safety40%Published capacity, harness, certification, and whether the manufacturer states an age or jogging limit.
Ease of use25%Fold mechanism, seat reversibility, car-seat compatibility, and how many add-ons a basic setup needs.
Comfort20%Recline range, suspension hardware, canopy coverage, seat padding as described by the manufacturer.
Value15%Price against what the spec sheet actually includes, not against list price alone.

How the arithmetic works

Each factor is scored 0–5. The final score is the weighted sum: (safety × 0.40) + (ease × 0.25) + (comfort × 0.20) + (value × 0.15). A stroller that publishes nothing scores low on the factors it cannot evidence — that is intentional, and it is the reason Mockingbird does not take our overall pick despite a $350 price advantage.

What we have not tested

Read this list before you trust any number on the site.

  • Crash or side-impact performance. We do not own the sled, the sensors or the certification. Any crash-related claim on this site is a manufacturer statement or a named third party's rating.
  • Chemical emissions. GREENGUARD Gold and similar marks are certifications earned by the manufacturer; we repeat them, we do not verify them.
  • Long-term durability, frame fatigue, fabric pilling after 500 folds.
  • Real-world handling: kerbs, snow, bus steps, the specific 22-inch hallway in your apartment.
  • Whether your child will tolerate the seat. No spec sheet answers that.

What we do verify

  • That the spec appears on the manufacturer's page, on the date printed.
  • That the price is the one shown by the brand, not a retailer discount we cannot confirm.
  • That no field is filled in when the source is silent.
  • That every product's name, spec and image alt text are identical across the ranking, the review and the comparison.

Price snapshot policy

We do not pretend to show live prices. Every price on this site is a snapshot taken from the brand's own page on November 5, 2026 (catalogue sync: 2026-11-05). It is stamped on every card and every review. Prices move; a truncated $9.99 at checkout is normal and is not a bait-and-switch by us.

We also do not show a crossed-out "was" price unless we hold a verified historical price. On this catalogue that means: no crossed-out prices at all. And no promo codes, because no brand has issued us one that we can verify has not expired.
